I have to share a little rant I had on my personal Facebook page.
So, dudes, be honest: Why do you feel you have to be a total dick about tall girls? We get it. We are tall. As much as supermodels are tall like I am, and you may think you want a supermodel, we (us girls) all know that short girls are more desirable. However, it’s not that we can change our height. It’s just one thing you are stuck with. Yes, you can change your weight, your hair color, your boob size, etc., but you are stuck the height you are until you get old and start shrinking. So why bother saying something douchetastic? Let the chauvinistic comments begin:
So I put this out to my personal Facebook friends to comment on, and, boy, did they! To provide some background information on why I posted this, I have to share this interaction that happened to me at work this week:
Male Co-worker: You make me feel so short.
Me: Because you are short.
Make Co-worker: Put out sigh
Me: You have been giving me crap about my height forever. Are you surprised to hear this?
The comments I received where very insightful and amusing. My favorite was:
I don’t buy it. I think if you REALLY wanted to, you could be shorter. I think tallness is a choice. Have you tried praying the tall away? I hear that Evergreen International may be adding a tall-girls program to their therapy line-up. Word is that it will have a similar level of success as their existing programs.
I’m still mildly irritated by this co-worker’s behavior. I still don’t understand why some guys feel it this type of conversation is at all interesting to any female. If anyone else would like to weigh in on this, please do!
P.S. Rarely do you get a picture of me with my posts, but just to provide context I included a picture of the sassy scotch drinker and me. Yep, I’m taller, but my shoes are fantastic! Sadly, they didn’t make it into the picture.
