I really love this band; it has a special place in my heart. I became familiar with them prior to my younger brother leaving for boot camp, but I feel in love with them the day he just randomly emailed me this song while he was at boot camp.
No explanation, just the link to you the YouTube video, and, for just a moment as I listened to the song, the world made sense. My brother and I tend to communicate this way, maybe a subject line in the email with a link to something silly or fun that only a sibling would appreciate. I don’t divulge a lot of personal things, but my brother has an incurable, awful disease, and it seems unfair that anyone would have to be so sick.
Anytime I hear the song, “Home” on the radio, I always stop station scanning and listen to it. It’s one of those songs that never get old to me, even though I typically despise songs that have whistling. I’ll always feel this way about all my siblings, “Home is wherever I’m with you.”
To my delight, Edward Sharpe & the Magentic Zeroes recently released a new album. Here’s my one of my favorite tracks, “Remember to Remember.”
